The hotel, which only opened in February 2012, earned its position on the shortlist through its unconventional approach, providing a more creative, more productive, and fun environment.

Highly respected and influential UK based design and lifestyle publication, Wallpaper* Magazine has just named amba TAIPEI XIMENDING one of the 29 best new openings around the world on its BEST BUSINESS HOTELS 2012 shortlist. This year, the magazine selects a new breed of designer hotels based on the ‘Combining Business and Fun’ concept. amba was the only Taiwan hotel and only one of seven in Asia Pacific which made the grade based on design style, quality of service, and quality of food. This puts Ambassador Hotel Group’s newest creation on the same level as the world’s most coveted designer hotels such as the Armani Hotel Milano, Bulgari Hotel in London, and W Paris - Opéra.

Wallpaper* describes the hotels on the list having “je ne sais quoi” – the indescribable quality that makes something very appealing. At amba TAIPEI XIMENDING, this quality is the result of a decision by the Ambassador Hotel Group to develop a totally new creative hotel concept. amba’s unique aesthetic feel is a collaboration between Taiwan’s top architects, interior designers, artists, culinary experts, mixologists, and music stylists.

In addition to securing a place on the Wallpaper* shortlist, amba TAIPEI XIMENDING is already winning the hearts of customers. Open less than a year, amba has welcomed more than 60,000 guests and received numerous excellent ratings on travel websites. The key to this success is the hotel’s focus on three elements - creativity, connectivity and conservation - in what the hotel describes as its DNA.
